Base64 Encode / Decode

Encode text to Base64 or decode Base64 back to readable text for debugging headers, tokens, and serialized blobs.

How it works

How to use

Enter plain text and click Encode to produce a Base64 string. Paste a Base64 string and click Decode to recover the original bytes interpreted as UTF-8 text. Line breaks in pasted values are normalized before processing.

Typical workflows

  • Decode Basic authentication headers during API troubleshooting
  • Inspect Base64-wrapped configuration values in legacy PHP apps
  • Generate test vectors for base64_encode / base64_decode parity checks

Limits and safety

Base64 is encoding, not encryption—never treat decoded output as trusted input. Binary data may not display cleanly as text; for files or images, use dedicated binary tools. Extremely long strings may hit browser memory limits; chunk large artifacts locally instead.

Run in browser

AJAX processing only. No remote PHP execution sandbox. Results are not indexed.

Inputs are processed for this request only and are not stored in analytics. Object unserialize and arbitrary PHP execution are blocked.

  • This site never evaluates arbitrary PHP from the browser.
  • Generated configs are starting points—validate on a staging host before production.
